SOOC (“SOOC,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is operated by [Company Legal Name], located at [Registered Address]. We take your privacy seriously and handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including, where applicable, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA), and other local laws.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the SOOC mobile application, the SOOC website, and all products and services we provide through them (together, the “Services”). If a specific Service has its own privacy notice, that notice applies; otherwise, this Policy applies.
This Policy does not cover third-party websites or services linked from the Services. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: the email address or phone number you use to sign up, or — with your permission — the name, profile photo and unique identifier from a third-party sign-in (such as Sign in with Apple or Google).
- Profile information: the username, avatar, bio and reading preferences you choose to add.
- Creator content: stories, images, comments and other content you write, upload or publish using our creator tools.
- Support communications: contact details, descriptions and screenshots you send us when asking for help.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Reading and interaction data: reading progress, choices made, endings unlocked, favorites, likes and comments — used to save and sync your progress.
- Device information: device model, operating system and app version, language and time zone, and device identifiers (such as IDFV or Android ID; IDFA/GAID only if you allow tracking).
- Log information: IP address, access times, crash logs and performance data, used to keep the Services stable and secure.
2.3 Purchase information
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play or another payment provider. We do not collect or store your full card number or payment credentials. We only receive the information needed to deliver your purchase, such as the order ID, item, amount and transaction status.
2.4 What we do not collect
We do not intentionally collect your precise location, contacts, messages, call logs, biometric data or other sensitive information that is unrelated to the Services.

If we want to use your information for a purpose not described in this Policy, we will ask for your consent first.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies
Our website and in-app web pages may use cookies and local storage to remember your sign-in, theme and language preferences, and to collect anonymous usage statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work properly as a result.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We only disclose information in the following cases:
- With your consent: to third parties you direct us to share with.
- Service providers: vendors who provide cloud hosting, payments, push notifications, analytics, customer support and similar services on our behalf. They may only process information on our instructions, for the purposes in this Policy, and must protect it to an equivalent standard.
- Public content: stories, comments, your username and avatar that you choose to publish are visible to other users.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, legal process, or a valid request from a government or court.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, we will require the recipient to remain bound by this Policy, or we will ask for your consent again.
6. Third-Party SDKs
The app includes third-party SDKs to provide certain features. The table below is an example; please update it to reflect the SDKs actually integrated:
| SDK | Purpose | Information it may collect |
|---|---|---|
| [Sign-in SDK, e.g. Sign in with Apple / Google] | Third-party sign-in | Authorized name, avatar, unique ID |
| [Push notification SDK] | Push notifications | Device identifier, push token |
| [Analytics / crash reporting SDK] | Product analytics, crash diagnostics | Device information, crash logs |
| [Payment SDK] | In-app purchases | Order information |
Each SDK's handling of information is governed by its own privacy policy. We review SDK providers for security and require them to comply with applicable law.
7. Retention & Security
- Where we store data: your information is stored on servers located in [Server Region].
- How long we keep it: only as long as necessary for the purposes in this Policy. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
- How we protect it: we use encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls and security audits. No system on the internet is 100% secure, however. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights. You can exercise them in the app's settings or by contacting us as described in Section 12:
- Access and portability: view your information under Me → Settings → Privacy, or request a copy.
- Correction: edit your username, avatar and other details on your profile page.
- Deletion: delete stories and comments you've published, or ask us to delete your personal information.
- Withdraw consent and object: turn off push notifications or ad tracking in your device settings, or switch off personalized recommendations in the app. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
- Delete your account: go to Me → Settings → Account & Security → Delete Account. Once deleted, reading history, virtual items and any unused membership time cannot be restored.
- Non-discrimination: we will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
- Complaints: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We will respond within 30 days of receiving and verifying your request.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age without verifiable parental consent. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly. Parents who believe their child has provided us information can contact us at the address below.
Some stories contain mature themes. We label content with age ratings and offer a teen mode in the app.
10. International Transfers
We may transfer your information to countries other than the one you live in, which may have different data protection laws. When we do, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and comply with any other requirements of applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice, message or other prominent means. Continuing to use the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
